SimpleMD ("the app") is a Markdown reader and editor for macOS.

We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal data.

• All files you open remain on your device. The app has no server and sends no file contents anywhere.
• There is no account, sign-in, analytics, tracking, or advertising SDK.
• The app stores a single security-scoped bookmark of the last folder you opened in the local system preferences (UserDefaults) so it can reopen that folder on next launch. This never leaves your device.
• The app runs in the macOS App Sandbox and can only access folders and files you explicitly choose.

Network access

The app requests the "outgoing network connections" entitlement only to support an optional advertising banner (Carbon Ads). This banner is disabled in the current release, so the app makes no network requests. If a future version enables the banner, this policy will be updated and the ad provider's data practices (https://carbonads.net/privacy) will apply to the ad content only.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.
